Our most common questions, answered.
Have a Question?
What are your business hours?
Because we offer classes based on pre-registration only, our working hours reflect our current class schedule. We will always be in the studio 30 minutes before and after a class for prep and clean-up. We are often in the studio all day on weekdays, but it never hurts to call or text ahead to ensure we're here when you need us to be.
How old does my child need to be to participate?
Miss Megan's Maker Room offers classes to artists as young as 18 months! Our Make + Paint Tots class runs as a monthly class during the school year, and on a weekly basis during the summer. Our youngest artists explore "Creative Play" during their art time and may or may not go home with a completed art piece. "Creative Play" includes drawing, painting, coloring, stamping, and other traditional artforms and may also include sensory play, color mixing, story time, and more! Register your Tot today by visiting our Book Online page.
Do I need to stay with my child during class time?
Little hands sometimes need extra help, so we require all students aged 3 and under to have a parent or other adult accompany them during the entirety of their class.
What are my Payment Options?
Currently we accept: Cash, Check, and Credit Card payments. Credit Card payments can be made in house or on our website via PayPal.
Note: PayPal is our credit card processor of choice, but no PayPal account is necessary to make a payment with us, simply sign in as a guest to check out as normal.
I'm not sure I enrolled my child in the right class, how can I double check?
All class and workshop registrants will receive a confirmation email confirming their class date and time at the end of checkout. If you choose to pay online when booking, you will also receive an email with receipt of payment. Didn't get an email or need to switch days? Call or email Miss Megan and we'll get you updated!
My child needs to miss a class. What do I need to do?
We know life can be hectic with appointments, illness, and other activities, so we offer each student one free make-up opportunity per month. Let Miss Megan know you'll be missing your regular class (ahead of time if possible), and your child will be welcomed at a corresponding class during the same or following week. Make-up classes must be scheduled with Miss Megan to ensure supplies are ready for your young artist! Example: B missed his regular Monday Make + Paint Pre-K/Kinder class. He can either attend the Wednesday session of the same class that week or the following week.
I need to cancel my enrollment, can I get a refund?
Art making is a time-consuming business and requires lots of planning, material gathering, and preparation which begins as soon as you enroll in a class or workshop. Seats are also limited in all of our classes, which means we may have had to turn away another customer from our services. For these reasons we DO NOT offer any refunds for Classes, Workshops, or Adult Nights.
Do you currently offer classes for adults? Can I BYOB?
Yes! You can view upcoming adult nights on our Workshops + Events page. Currently we offer two types of adult nights: Make Mondays occur on the 2nd Monday of each month and feature a DIY project of some kind. Past Make Mondays include DIY Bath Bombs, Fabric Dyeing, and Upcycled Frame Earring Holders. Our other adult night, Third Thursdays, happens on the 3rd Thursday of each month and features a canvas painting. Miss Megan offers step by step instructions on how to paint each canvas, but encourages all participants to really make each canvas their own by customizing colors, trying different techniques, and more. Miss Megan does NOT allow BYOB for regularly scheduled adult nights as we encourage teens and college students to attend. Private Bookings (parties, bridal showers, etc.) are welcome to bring any refreshments of their choice to the studio.
Do you offer Private Art or Sewing Lessons?
Yes! Miss Megan will work with your and her schedule to set up a single or series of private lessons, covering what you or your child want to learn about most! Pricing for Private Lessons is $20 per hour for one student; $15 per hour for 2 or more students with up to 4 students total. Number and length of sessions is dependent on the project.
Will you post if a class is cancelled?
We will post on social media if a Monthly Class, Open House, Open Studio, Adult Night, or Weekend Workshop WITH enrollments is being cancelled due to illness, bad weather, or emergency.
Classes WITHOUT enrollments will not be posted on social media, they simply won't be held.
