About Miss Megan + the Make Room

Founded in 2016, Miss Megan's Make Room inspires creativity in the youth of Lubbock and surrounding communities with fine art classes, a student art gallery, weekend craft workshops, and full-service instructor-led private events and parties.
Miss Megan holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Fine Arts from Minnesota State University and has been teaching the arts to students from age 9 to 90 (actually from age 4 to 90!) for the past 10 years. Miss Megan has been sewing since she was 8 years old, and holds a special place in her heart for Fiber Arts as well as Painting. Former class instruction includes lessons on drawing, painting, art history, sewing, embroidery, sculpture, collage, and printmaking.
Inspiration for the Make Room comes from Miss Megan's personal love of learning and the absolute joy she finds in helping children achieve their "A-ha!" moment when learning a new skill or concept. Miss Megan hopes to help your child experience their own "A-ha!" moments during their class time at the Make Room.

Friendly Faces at the Make Room:
Artists and Assistants
The staff at Miss Megan's Make Room is made up of experienced and talented artists who love teaching and mentoring others. They also help organize, design, and plan for our classes and events, and may occasionally step in as lead instructor or substitute for Miss Megan.

Bryan Ross
Co-Owner, Maintenance, Tie Dye Enthusiast
Bryan Ross, aka Mr. B, helps make the studio a more efficient place to be and often creates new organization systems for all of our supplies. He loves to build and to ensure all Makers are learning the safest techniques while creating.

Miss Natalie
Assistant Instructor, Organization
Miss Natalie has been with the Make Room since May 2021. She keeps the studio running smoothly with her top-notch organizational skills, positive energy, and willingness to learn! Natalie enjoys working with students and provides support and encouragement to all Makers!

Miss Jailyn
Assistant Instructor
Miss Jailyn started with the Make Room in May 2022. She is a talented artist and is great at walking Makers through the steps in their work. Miss Jailyn is friendly, easy-going, and fun and will help any Maker feel at home in the studio.

Vincent van Winkles
Studio Assistant
Mr. Winkles or Vinny for short. Vincent joined the Make Room family when he turned up on our doorstep in January 2020 and then sauntered his way right into the studio and everyone's hearts. He's a super gentle gentleman who enjoys sitting on blank canvases and soaking up sunshine! These days Vinny lives at home with Miss Megan, but still makes the occasional studio appearance.
