Make + Paint Monthly Classes
Each month students learn about and are inspired by a different artist or art movement to create artworks in a variety of medium.
Make and Paint students will explore a variety of painting methods as well as sculpture, printmaking, and more. Lessons will be directly tied to practicing the Elements of Art, Principles of Design, as well as exploring Art History and Contemporary Art by focusing on a specific artist or art movement each month.
$70 per Month includes:

**Adult helper must stay for artists aged 3 and under**
+ Tots (2-3 years): Fridays 10:00-11:00am**
+Pre-K and Kinder (4-6 years): Mondays 5:00-6:00pm OR Wednesdays 5:00-6:00pm
+ Grades 1-4: Tuesdays 5:00-6:00pm, Wednesdays 6:30-7:30pm; Thursdays 4-5pm
+ Grades 5+: Tuesdays 6:30-7:30pm
+Homeschool Students: Tuesdays 2:00-3:00pm; Wednesdays 2:00-3:00pm
Artist to Inspire: William Wegman
Focus: Creating Narratives in Art
Begins September 2
William Wegman first became famous for his photographs of Weimaraners, but students will focus primarily on his paintings from the early 2000's to create artworks using found images and creating stories.
Focus: Artistic Wood Assembly
Begins September 30
Let's build! Using a wide variety of wood scraps, Makers will explore sculpture terminology while creating a wood assemblage. Guest instructor Mr. B (Bryan Ross) will teach students about safety and how to handle sandpaper, a hammer, and nails, when working with raw and found materials. Safety equipment (gloves, goggles, ear protection) will be available for all students during this special Monthly Class.
Artists to Inspire: Hokusai, Warhol + More
Focus: Printmaking + Production
Begins December 2
Makers will practice a variety of introductory print-making methods to create multiples of their own original artwork, perfect for gift giving! Students will create stamps, carved blocks, and simple screen prints and more during this Monthly Class Session.

Artist to Inspire: Kehinde Wiley
Focus: Portraits, Color, + Pattern
Begins October 28
Makers will create a special artwork honoring someone they care about in our November session. While reviewing the work of Kehinde Wiley, Makers will make a repeating pattern, create BRIGHT color palettes, and learn how Wiley is elevating and honoring regular people by capturing them in his huge and elaborate paintings.

Artist to Inspire: Vincent van Gogh
Focus: Place + Perspective
Makers will review the principles of one-point perspective while create artworks inspired by van Gogh's paintings of interior rooms and outdoor city scenes.
